My Style

Hi friends!

To kick off my blog, it only seemed fitting that my first blog post is an introduction to my style. What I like to say is, “My style is no style”. Essentially what this means is that I don’t really like to confine myself to certain labels, such as boho, edgy, minimalistic, instead I mainly go with what I’m feeling that day. One day I might go super sporty with a hat and joggers, and the next day I might be in heels and a bell sleeve top - it really all just depends.

Going off of that, my mantra is “You can rock anything with confidence”. It’s no secret to anyone who knows me personally that I will dress up to class almost every single day. Some days I leave my house feeling super confident in my extra trendy outfit, but get to campus only to notice that I really do not dress like everyone else, and a pang of doubt overcomes me. This is where my mantra comes in, and I always say to myself “confidence, Gurbs”, as I turn campus into a mini runway, holding my head up just a tad too high. As extra as it may seem, it helps me be sure of myself and realize that different isn’t a bad thing. I like to experiment, I like to do the unexpected, and I like to mix styles. Here are a few outfits showing off exactly what I mean:

One of my favorite shirts in my closet from free people, the blue and grey makes an amazing combo, and the mesh see through gives the perfect opportunity to show off a cute bralette, my baby pink one being from nordstrom rack. Keeping with the lighter colors, I added white jeans from Joe's and nude espadrilles from Steve Madden. To top off the look I added a statement coin necklace from Free People.

Threw on a baby pink bralette from Calvin Klien and let it peek through for a shameless brand plug, and added my go to adidas sneakers (seriously have worn these to death!)

This fun midi from nordstrom rack can be styled in so many different ways. With the crazy weather in Michigan its not only a perfect layering piece but a very easy day to night dress. Here I dressed it down with some steve madden espadrilles, but kept it classy with the navy blue tassel belt and dainty necklace from tjmaxx. To top it off, I added some colorful makeup to make the look more fun!

And with that, I hope you got even just a touch of fashion inspiration! Until next time,

Gurbani
